Lowestoft U3A

U3As are self-help, self-managed lifelong learning co-operatives for older people no longer in full time work, providing opportunities for their members to share learning experiences in a wide range of interest groups and to pursue learning not for qualifications, but for fun.

There are 865 U3As around the UK, including the one in Lowestoft, which  is a thriving, lively group with some 530 members and 36 interest groups. These range from Art Appreciation, Bowls, Cribbage, Language Learning, Mixed Crafts, Singing  and many more.

We hold a monthly meeting, which is regularly attended by around 200 members, with a guest speaker and is held on the last Wednesday of each month at 10.30 a.m. except June, July, August, November and December.

We are glad to receive new members, especially those willing to set-up and run new groups. If you are interested in joining us or just want some more information, please contact Dorothy, our chairman, on 01502 562082. Those with internet access may like to take a look at our website which can be found via the main U3A website or directly at http://u3asites.org.uk/lowestoft
